About Me

I have a diverse range of skills.

After running my own small business for 14 years, I decided that I wanted to give something back to society which was when I began my training to be a Coach and Samaritan. Both have changed my life in the most positive and fulfilling ways and made me a better person in every sense.

I am a firm believer in ongoing personal development and attend regular lectures and discussions on all aspect of coaching and Samaritan.

I have a keen interest in addiction and trauma and have read many books on the subject.

When I joined Samaritans, I encountered our outreach prison team and knew immediately I wanted to be a part of this. During one of my training sessions in Pentonville, I met a young prisoner who felt strongly that coaching would transform his life, and I knew from that moment that this was what I was going to do with my coaching.

I want to make a difference to my client’s lives by showing that someone believes in them and that they can move on from a tough start in life.

With each client, I aim to help them move on from difficult beginnings, overcome dysfunctional backgrounds and trauma and finding their way to living positive and productive lives.

Several years working in Pentonville and extensive reading has given me a clear understanding of the social factors that lead to imprisonment.  From a place of knowing how it feels to struggle with every qualification I have ever taken and what it means when someone believes in you, I know I can give what it takes to help show my clients that it’s worth the struggle.

I will take away from every success the knowledge that I have made a small difference, that is enough and gives me the greatest feeling of fulfilment. For those that don’t quite make it the first time I convey that I will never give up on them. I want to be part of helping clients find their inner strengths and help them know they can achieve anything.

Since becoming a full member of the Samaritans prison team and subsequently the Branch Support Prison Office training and supporting Listeners in Pentonville and raising branch awareness I have been notably successful in building rapport and supportive relationships with the residence and officers. With my ongoing experience at Pentonville, I have found that I have been the most successful in engaging with the Listeners and other residents when they feel you are treating them as an equal and are invested in them and truly care what happens in their lives.

I find I have an ability to find a point of connection and build on that to gain trust that I am working in their best interests, this includes being sensitive to the reaction of both other prisoners and officers to the Listeners role within prison and supporting them.

When I’m not coaching you’ll find me…

Running through London (or any other city really) enjoying the sites.

In the gym doing spin, swimming, yoga and I love the social aspect to.

Walking with friends.

Volunteering for Samaritans as a listening volunteer, trainer and Branch Support Prison Officer at Pentonville Prison supporting and training residents to be listeners.

Cleaning (strange as it may sound) I get a real sense of satisfaction from it. I love my home environment to be just so.

Travelling (when we can) and learning about other cultures and ways of life – in fact learning about other perspectives and ways of thinking fascinates me.

I’m a qualified DISC trainer and an SC personality type which makes me a peacemaker. One with a kind nature but also detail orientated.

I’m passionate about helping you to become your very best self, discover your potential and be happy and fulfilled – Let me join you on that wonderful journey.
